Blockchain could revolutionise the automotive transport sector, enabling data authentication in connected cars, providing a support system for connectivity and generally facilitating Mobility as a Service (MaaS). The blockchain can be defined as an incorruptible, public digital ledger of transactions. Once a transaction, or block, is complete, it is absorbed into the chain, where it forms part of a permanent database and a new block is created. All blocks are linked in a linear, chronological order.
