Automotive World takes a look at the highlights of the 2016 Paris motor show. This article will be updated throughout the show’s two press days to include key new model launches.

Some of the most significant new models and concept cars at the 2016 Paris motor show include:

Concept X2 – The latest addition to BMW’s X range, the X2 coupe SUV, has been shown at Paris in concept form. The production version, due on 2018, will use the same platform as the X1, and will be built at the same factory in Regensburg.

Mercedes-Benz Cars

E-Class All-Terrain – Following the launch of the all-new E-Class at the Detroit auto show in January, Mercedes-Benz is using the Paris show to unveil the E-Class All-Terrain.

AMG-GT Roadster and GT C Roadster – The AMG-GT family has been expanded to include the AMG-GT Roadster and GT C Roadster. The former has been touted as the entry-level version, with the GT C offering extra power.

AMG GLC 43 Coupé – The new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé combines a sporty, elegant design with the brand’s hallmark Driving Performance and the advantages of an SUV.

Generation EQ concept – This concept vehicle will offer a first glimpse of the four Mercedes EVs due before 2020.

Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 – The Maybach name continues to play a role, appearing on this concept vehicle which offers glimpses into developments of an upcoming Mercedes-Benz zero-emission range.

Micra – Nissan has launched the all-new Nissan icra, which is built on the Renault-Nissan CMF B platform. SUZUKI

Ignis – The new Ignis, Suzuki’s new global compact crossover, has been unveiled at the 2016 Paris Mondial de l’Automobile. Sales begin in Europe in early 2017, followed by rollout in other markets.

SX4 S-Cross – The new Suzuki SX4 S-Cross crossover will be on show at Paris. Its online reveal ahead of the event promised extra features and an improved specification.

Q5 – The new Audi Q5 will be revealed this week at the Paris Motor Show. Built at several plants globally, the Q5 production network now includes Mexico, and the all-new range will include an electric variant.

Panamera – Porsche’s all-new Panamera range includes the Panamera 4S, 4S Diesel, Turbo, Sport Turismo and the 4 E-Hybrid.

I.D. concept – This all-electric vehicle concept previews VW’s pure EV offering for launch in 2020.

Tiguan LWB – The LWB version of Volkswagen’s Tiguan is 110mm longer than the standard version of the SUV.
