As governments, automakers and suppliers seeks to meet ever more stringent regulations surrounding vehicle emissions, some very legitimate questions have been raised about the future of internal combustion engine technology, and diesel in particular.

Yet despite growing regulatory pressure and technological improvements in electrification and hybridisation, as well as consumer concern over emissions, diesel remains an important part of the powertrain discussion.
