Goodyear Engineered Products (GT) has launched new low-permeation automotive fuel hoses to meet the growing demand for environment friendly vehicles. The new products join Goodyear's existing SAE 30R7 high-performance, moderate permeation hoses.
Goodyear's new SAE 30R9 and 30R11 hoses are made of aramid fibre that promises superior tensile strength and resists stretching. The hoses can be implemented in all-terrain vehicles, outdoor recreational vehicles, lawn mowers, snow blowers and generators. They are compatible with a variety of fuels including gasoline, diesel and ethanol. The SAE 30R9 can also be used for sour gas and biodiesel fuel applications.
Designed for moderate-pressure applications, the hoses resist swelling, chemical degradation, and oil and fuel permeation. The outer hose covers also help resist decay from oil, heat and ozone.
The SAE 30R9 and 30R11 are in full compliance with the Society of Automotive Engineers' (SAE) standards. The hoses also meet new US EPA and California Air Resources Board emission requirements that came into effect in January 2007.
Goodyear Engineered Products, a subsidiary of the US-based Goodyear Tire & Rubber, designs and manufactures automotive hoses, power transmission belts, air springs, moulded products and other products for automotive and industrial uses.
