Toyota plans to operate its Altona plant in Australia on a reduced schedule of around 50% throughout May as it seeks to conserve Japanese-sourced parts. Like many OEMs, Toyota’s global production is being scaled back as Japanese suppliers slowly regain footing following the 11 March earthquake.
