Norwegian electric car maker Th!nk has revealed images of its Ox design study. While the vehicle is a five-door hatchback, the Norwegian firm says the basic concept could just as easily evolve into a coupe or minivan.
The vehicle is 4,120mm long, 1,814mm wide and 1,650mm high, with a 2,775mm wheelbase.
Th!nk says the Ox's powertrain consists of two electric motors but that there are two ways of mounting them - a stacked system which allows use of low cost, high range sodium batteries, or a lithium ion pack that is mounted low in the vehicle.
According to its maker, the concept's unpainted body panels are fully recyclable while only 5% of its interior components cannot be used again. Other environmentally friendly technologies include solar panels in the roof which power the air conditioning when the vehicle is parked.
Fully recharging the Ox is said to take 12 hours and depending on the battery pack, the range can be anywhere from 200-450km, Th!nk says. If the lithium-ion cells are fitted, an 80% charge can be done in an hour, however.
