Volvo Group subsidiary Mack Trucks and the United Auto Workers have issued statements concerning the extension of union contracts that are due to expire at midnight on 14 December.
John Walsh, a spokesman for the Allentown, Pennsylvania-based OEM says the contracts will be extended on a rolling one-day basis so as "to accommodate continuing negotiations."
The latest extension, the parties' third such arrangement, affects 2,200 workers represented by UAW Local 677 at plants in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Florida.
