The supply chain collaboration platform SupplyOn is offering a new function that supports manufacturing companies in observing statutory requirements with regard to so-called “conflict minerals”. The Dodd-Frank Act requires companies that supply their products to the target market U.S. to disclose the use of certain minerals along the entire supply chain – from the country of origin, the smelters and suppliers to their own products. With the aid of a standardized questionnaire, SupplyOn automates the query process as well as the evaluation and documentation of the results.

The benefits are huge savings in terms of time – both in the query process and in accessing the seamlessly documented results. The query process is optimally supported by configurable alert functions. Both the content of the completed questionnaires and the feedback status of the queried suppliers can be downloaded for further internal processing in Excel format.

To speed up the query process and achieve a high response rate, SupplyOn optionally offers accompanying services such as follow-up actions by telephone. The response rate, which is usually below 40 percent for this type of query, can thus be increased to well over 80 percent.

Continental Automotive and Schaeffler are among the first companies to use SupplyOn for their query process on the use of conflict minerals.
