Aston Martin Lagonda China is pleased to announce Mr Michael Mingshan Peng as its new President, further reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to the China market.

Mr Peng will join Aston Martin Lagonda China from Porsche China where he served as Director of Sales for six years, and latterly as Director of PR and Press. Mr Peng will assume operational responsibility for all aspects of the Aston Martin China business.

The move in the China market follows several high-profile senior management appointments within Aston Martin, including that of Dr Andy Palmer as the luxury British sports car maker’s new Chief Executive Officer in October 2014.

Dr Palmer said: “I’m delighted that Michael will be heading up our China business at this important time, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his 22-year automotive career. Aston Martin is in the midst of its most significant and ambitious period of investment to date, and Michael will be instrumental in leading the China dealer network through this exciting time.”

Christian Marti, Aston Martin Global Sales Director, said “Michael is a highly respected industry figure, and will be a valuable asset to our China business. He has both international and China automotive experience, and is the perfect candidate to lead our iconic brand in China.”

Mr Peng is a Chinese national and was educated at Tongji University in Shanghai. He achieved post-graduate qualifications in Germany, where he subsequently worked for BMW AG in various key management positions including in BMW’s Asia business.

Mr Peng will assume his position on February 1, 2015, following Ms Jenny Zheng’s recent retirement.  Ms Zheng made significant contributions during her tenure at Aston Martin Lagonda China, developing the China dealer network as well as overseeing the launch of several key models.
