The recruiting campaign Valmet Automotive ran in September for warehouse workers brought a total of 288 applications. 30 vacancies are open for various tasks in internal logistics. The selection process is currently under way and will continue for this week.

The internal logistics has a key role in the smooth operations of the vehicle plant. The need for flexibility is constantly growing at the Uusikaupunki plant as in addition to the current Mercedes-Benz A-series production, the preparations are made for the production of the GLC SUV starting early next year. The warehouse workers recruited now will start their work with the A-series and continue in future with the GLC SUV.

“We received 288 applications for the open internal logistics jobs. It’s an excellent count taking into account that every week we get dozens of applications for our other open positions, too.” says Valmet Automotive’s HR expert Mari Pajunen.

Given the increase in the A-series volumes more warehouse workers are urgently needed to support production. The application period was shorter than normally but did not affect the number of applicants, and the selection process was already initiated during the application period. Training for this job will take four weeks, and after the successfully completed labor market training Valmet Automotive will offer permanent employment at the Uusikaupunki plant.

Valmet Automotive will continue to recruit vehicle builders for the production needs of the Mercedes Benz GLC SUV production this and the coming year.
