Isuzu Motors Limited (head office; Shinagawa, Tokyo, president: Mr. Susumu Hosoi) conducted the ceremony of inaugurating the vehicle Manufacturing plant of Isuzu Motors Saudi Arabia Co. (IMSAC) constructed in Dammam 2nd Industrial City, Saudi Arabia, on December 12, 2012 (local time).

Graced with the presence of H.E. Dr. Tawfig Alrabiah (Minister of Commerce and Industry of Saudi Arabia), H.E. Engr. Saleh Al-Rasheed (Acting Director General of MODON), Mr. Miyamoto (Deputy Director-General of Manufacturing Industries Bureau of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), and Mr. Morino (Minister to Saudi Arabia), Isuzu Motors president, Mr. Hosoi, and about 200 people attended this ceremony.

For the construction of the vehicle Manufacturing plant in Saudi Arabia, Isuzu Motors plans to produce 600 trucks for the first year, starting with the production of medium-duty trucks Forward, and then to extend model lineup to heavy- and light-duty trucks. Isuzu estimates production of 25,000 trucks a year in the future, considering the possibility of exporting those trucks to the Gulf countries.

Isuzu sold 11,000 commercial vehicles in Saudi Arabia for 2011, and estimates the sales of 14,000 commercial vehicles for 2012, expecting the sales will further expand in the future. Isuzu Motors will continue to strengthen businesses in the Middle East region by providing them with products and services best suitable for their needs, as well as the businesses of After-Sales Center (ASC) in Dubai which already started its operation.
