The wait is over: the new Tiguan can now be ordered with two new top engines. The powerful 2.0 TSI engine with output of 162 kW / 220 PS familiar from the Golf GTI now gives the Tiguan an even sportier character. In addition, the new 2.0 TDI biturbo with 176 KW / 240 PS raises the bar even further and boasts extremely dynamic driving performance.

With the new biturbo, a four-cylinder turbodiesel direct-injection engine, Volkswagen offers the most powerful diesel in the segment. The way the Tiguan 2.0 TDI delivers its power is not only dynamic, but also efficient. For the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h the Tiguan biturbo needs no more than 6.5 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 228 km/h. Its maximum torque of 500 Newton metres, available between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm, is transferred to the road via the 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) and 4Motion all-wheel drive. The top TDI consumes an average of just 6.4 l / 100 km (corresponding CO2 emissions 167 g/km). Furthermore, the inner power of the Tiguan biturbo is reflected in the design. A clear distinguishing feature at the rear is the striking trapezoid tail pipes, which identify the Tiguan biturbo as the most powerful representative of its model series.

The 2.0 TSI engine with 162 kW / 220 PS also promises increased dynamic performance. Familiar from the Golf GTI, it now also gives the Tiguan a sporty character. With this engine the Tiguan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 220 km/h. The maximum torque of 350 Nm is available between 1,500 and 4,000 rpm. The 2.0 TSI will also be offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) and 4Motion all-wheel drive as standard. Both engines can be ordered in conjunction with the Highline equipment line. Prices start at €42,700 for the Tiguan biturbo and €39,625 for the Tiguan 2.0 TSI.
