Yaroslavl Engine Plant “Avtodiesel” of GAZ Group, a part of one of the largest diversified industrial groups in Russia – Basic Element, has obtained certificates of compliance with EURO 5 emission standards for its YaMZ-530 six-cylinder diesel engines. This extends export opportunities for vehicles equipped with YaMZ-530 engines and allows them to be shipped to countries with high-level emission standards.

GAZ Group YaMZ-530Yaroslavl Engine Plant “Avtodiesel” of GAZ Grouphas successfully completed testing and certification of engines for compliance with EURO 5 emission standards. A broad range of modifications and variants of YaMZ-530 six-cylinder diesel engines now obtained certificates of compliance with technical regulation of the Eurasian Customs Union No 018/2011 «On safety of wheeled motor vehicles» in terms of meeting EURO 5 requirements established by UN rules No 24-03 and No 49-05В2(G).

The range of YaMZ-530 EURO 5 six-cylinder engines features improved performance in relation to oil and fuel consumption, broader power span (240 – 330 h.p.) and torque range (900 – 1370 Nm). New YaMZ-530 engines’ design is commonized with that of EURO 4 engines to the maximum possible degree, while compliance with more stringent emission standards is achieved through use of SCR system (selective catalytic reduction system) and selective catalytic converter, which are installed on the vehicle.

The first YaMZ-530 EURO 5 engines are sent for vehicle certification to the strategic partners of the plant to be installed on Ural and MAZ trucks as well as LiAZ urban and suburban buses.

YaMZ-530 engines production is organized at a new site (approx. 56 K sq.m) of Yaroslavl Engine Plant. YaMZ-530 engines feature state-of-the-art design solutions in terms of arrangement, control, operation of key systems, which ensure their reliability and efficiency. Serial production of YaMZ-530 EURO 4 engines was launched in 2013. YaMZ-530 engines have a number of advantages versus most international and Russian similar products in relation to such parameters as power and torque at lower fuel consumption. The engine service life is up to 1 M km.

Andrey Matyshin, general director of Yaroslavl Engine Plant “Avtodiesel”:

– In our work, we are constantly striving for a higher level of engineering and design solutions, improved quality of our products, optimum balance of price/quality ratio. Providing the market with EURO 5 engines, YaMZ also extends export opportunities to the countries with high-level emission standards.
