Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, today announced  it has won 242 truck orders from LBC Express, the largest courier company in the Philippines. Manufactured at MFTBC’s Kawasaki plant in Japan, the Canter light-duty trucks will join LBC’s truck fleet by the end of August 2014.

LBC Express, Inc. was founded in the 1950’s and initially operated  as an air cargo forwarding service provider.  LBC soon became a respected leader offering fast and reliable Express Courier and Money Remittance service throughout the Philippines. Today, LBC offers the widest coverage and network with over 700 located branches  nationwide as well as over 60 branches  in United States,  Canada, and other countries.

Mr. Aiichiro Nishikawa, MFTBC Director of Sales & Market Management Fuso Asia, said: “We are pleased of our customer’s evaluation of our Canter truck for its performance, not only for its leading fuel-efficiency performance but also for its great drivability and maneuverability. With a solid 50-year history in the market, the FUSO brand has evolved and become known as one of the top and most reliable brands in the Philippines. Sales have been growing in 2014 thanks to the rising economy, achieving about 700 units in the first half 2014, January to June, up 117% compared to the same period in 2013, representing a market share of 27.6% in the light-duty truck segment.  Looking ahead, we continue to commit ourselves to the market and plan to improve our product offering and aftercare  services.”
