The members of Euro NCAP have elected Andrew Miller as new President and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the next two years.

Andrew Miller succeeds Professor Andre Seeck, who served as Chairman since 2010 and who will continue to represent the German Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) at Euro NCAP. Andrew is an automotive engineer with 30 years’ experience in vehicle design and development and served as a member of Euro NCAP Board of Directors since 2004.

At Thatcham Research, Andrew Miller is Chief Technical Officer and works closely with vehicle manufacturers, UK and European Governments, NGOs, insurance industry and other trade bodies. He is also on the Steering Committee of RCAR, the International Group of Insurance Automotive Research Centres, is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and of the Institute of Directors.

‘I am honoured to be appointed Chairman of Euro NCAP’s Board of Directors,’ said Andrew Miller. ‘Vehicle safety has undergone significant progress during recent years and the years to come will involve great changes to take account of the newest and essential technology on offer. I look forward to support Euro NCAP’s initiatives and role in Europe to supply consumers with precise safety information and safer vehicles.’

Announcing the nomination, Prof. Andre Seeck said: ‘I am congratulating Andrew Miller for having been appointed to take over this important role and I wish him success in further engaging Euro NCAP in the roll out of vehicle automation to improve vehicle safety and safe driving.’ Secretary General Michiel van Ratingen said: ‘I am confident that Andrew’s diverse experience in vehicle safety will allow advancement of the organization in line with the new Roadmap 2020.’
