Defects dwarf: Opel multi-talent gets top marks in DEKRA general inspection
Opel Movano has the right of way: the second Movano generation not only features top multi-functionality and new engines, it is also first-class in terms of reliability. The DEKRA Fault Report 2015 named it number one in the transporter class with a fault index of 81.6, which left competitor models far behind.
The Opel Movano is not only a defects dwarf, its modern engine portfolio with state-of-the-art BiTurbo diesel technology also sends consumption and emissions plummeting – and hence also fuel costs. “Winning the transporter class in this year’s DEKRA Fault Report is another strong argument for our versatile Movano,” says Steffen Raschig, Director of Opel/Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles. “Because especially in the commercial vehicle sector – regardless of whether in Germany or across Europe – low maintenance and repair costs and as few unscheduled workshop visits as possible are an important economic factor for all businesses.”
The commercial vehicle portfolio is a fundamental part of Opel’s growth strategy DRIVE! 2022. To 2022, the Rüsselsheim automaker plans an increase in sales of the Light Commercial Vehicles Opel Combo, Vivaro and Movano of up to 80 percent to 150,000 vehicles.
DEKRA generates its annual used car report by conducting precise assessments in nine vehicle classes and three kilometer reading ranges. The report is based on data from around 15 million general inspections. DEKRA only considers typical faults associated with used cars such as corrosion of the exhaust system or play in the suspension so that an accurate judgment about the longevity and durability of the vehicles can be made.
