Bruce Belzowski, Assistant Research Scientist, Transportation Research Institute, University of Michigan has been confirmed as a moderator in the Powertrain Innovation stream at Automotive Megatrends USA 2015, which takes place on 17 March 2015.

Belzowski is an assistant research scientist in Automotive Analysis. He received a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.A. from the University of Michigan (U-M). Prior to joining UMTRI, Belzowski worked for U-M’s Institute for Social Research and for R.L. Polk, where he was responsible for developing models of new car purchases and aftermarket spending. He joined Automotive Analysis as a research associate for the former Industry Structure Group in 1994.

Belzowski has authored research reports focusing on a variety of automotive topics including product development, manufacturer-supplier-dealer relations, globalisation, information technology, knowledge management, and human resources. His current research topics include Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), powertrain strategies, and the globalisation of the automotive industry. He is co-director of UMTRI’s China Automotive Program and Powertrain Strategies Program. He is also a steering committee member of the GERPISA global automotive research group in France and a Joint Researcher at the Institute for Technology, Enterprise, and Competitiveness at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan.

Organised by Automotive World, Automotive Megatrends USA 2015 is a one-day, three stream conference focusing on Powertrain Innovation, the Connected Car, and Retail (R)evolution. The event will take place at The Henry hotel in Dearborn, Michigan.

Belzowski will be moderating the third session of Stream 1: Powertrain Innovation, which will focus on the key breakthroughs in light vehicle powertrain technology that will lead to greater fuel economy and emissions reduction. Topics will include OEM and supplier strategy, emission standards, engine downsizing, lubricants, lightweighting, electrification and alternative fuels.
