Bernard Lycke, Director General, European Council for Motor Trades and Repairs (CECRA)

Mr Bernard Lycke has been the Director General of the European Council for Motor Trades and Repairs (CECRA) since February 2011. CECRA brings together 24 national professional associations, which represent the interests of motor trade and repair businesses, and 12 European Dealer Councils on behalf of vehicle dealers for specific makes.

Lycke is also member of the E.D.L. network (European Distribution Lawyers), an international association of lawyers and representatives of professional federations active in the car industry.

“As Director General of CECRA, the European Council for Motor Trades and Repairs, I represent the interests of automotive dealers and repairers at European level.  Over the years, CECRA has played an important role in various expert groups created by the European Commission with the aim of reinforcing the competitiveness and sustainability of the automotive industry. Similar to the Commission’s CARS 2020 initiative, the Automotive Megatrends conference brings together key automotive stakeholders to discuss the future of Europe’s commercial vehicle and passenger car industries. In my presentation, I will explain how dealers see the future of distribution in Europe, taking into account the recent market developments and the ongoing discussions concerning vertical relations in the automotive sector.”

Organised by Automotive WorldAutomotive Megatrends Europe 2014 is a two-day, multi-stream conference focusing on Commercial Vehicles and Passenger Cars. Hansson is confirmed as a speaker on the Passenger Car day, 11 September, in the Powertrain Innovation stream.
