Domestic automotive production among Japan’s five major manufacturers fell 2.5 percent year-on-year to 7.71m vehicles in 2003 on the back of a drop in domestic sales. However, the drop in domestic production was offset by a sharp rise in overseas output for four of the manufacturers.
