ZF: “We like to go local for local”

Post-Euro VI legislation could be the main driver for electrification in CV steering systems, says ZF

Walter Kogel is the Product Development Manager for Commercial Vehicle Steering Systems at ZF. The main ZF development location is at its headquarters in Friedrichshafen, and it also has a location in Sorocaba, Brazil. The supplier has an application engineering centre in Detroit, and Pune, India, as well as two large locations where it produces steering applications in China, specifically for the Chinese market. Kogel spoke to Automotive World about designing ‘local for local’, and the company’s Chinese focus.
