Volvo Group to boost profitability by expanding cost cutting measures

With its cost cutting measures helping the group post an increase in profits, Volvo Group has decided to expand the scope of its cost-reduction programme, focussing on structural cost reduction.

Despite a general slump in some major commercial vehicle markets, Volvo Group managed an increase in quarterly profit for the third quarter of this year. This increase in profits is mainly being attributed to the company's cost cutting measures. In all, these measures have reduced costs to the tune of around SEK 1.6bn (US$220.47m), the group has said.
