Visual displays develop to deliver sensory detail

Suppliers are developing new visual displays that can provide a greater level of detail by using data obtained from advanced sensor technology, writes Michael Nash

Cars are now hitting the market equipped with a wide array of sensory hardware, like cameras, radar and LiDAR. While these technologies can provide numerous benefits, like enhanced safety for example, they also raise unique challenges.

To take full advantage of the increasing amount data from these technologies, it must all be processed, transformed and represented in a form that is useful to the driver or perhaps multiple vehicle occupants. As a result, several companies are developing solutions that could soon find their way to market.
