The cost of traffic congestion in major cities is forecast to rise exponentially, with the combined annual cost of traffic gridlock in Europe and the US due to soar to US$293.1bn by 2030

The cost of traffic congestion throughout the major cities in the world is forecast to rise exponentially with the combined annual cost of traffic gridlock in Europe and the US due to soar by 50% to US$293.1bn by 2030.

These are the findings of Inrix, the real-time traffic information company, which recently carried out a survey alongside the Centre for Economics and Business Research (Cebr) looking into the future costs of gridlock in France, Germany, the UK and the US in the period between 2013 and 2030.
