Ownership down, mobility up: Ford tackles Europe

Sarah-Jayne Williams, Ford's first Director for Smart Mobility in Europe, speaks to Megan Lampinen about the company's plans to keep people moving in new and innovative ways

Vehicle manufacturers are preparing for the transition from car sales to mobility provision and Ford is jockeying for a leadership position in this new paradigm. Two years ago it outlined the Ford Smart Mobility plan, which incorporates not just how people drive but all the ways they move around cities - buses, taxis, bikes, etc. Last year it followed up with the launch of a new City Solutions team to collaborate with cities around the world on transportation needs.
