Less impact than feared with VW’s low-cost, low-tech diesel fix

Volkswagen's solution to the defeat device problem could prove less expensive than many feared and provides some welcome clarity on the scope of the problem. The OEM has agreed to fixes for affected 2.0- and 1.6-litre EA189 engines with the German Federal Motor Transport Authority, addressing the majority of the vehicles involved.
