It’s not just the heat: US momentum sluggish in July

The outlook for July light vehicle sales ranges from modest declines to moderate increases, with yet more warnings that the peak is imminent. By Megan Lampinen

It is a cautious outlook for US sales in July, with expectations ranging from modest declines to moderate increases. Kelley Blue Book is calling for a 1% year-on-year drop in light vehicle sales to 1.5 million units, for a seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of 17.5 million units. That would be on par with July 2015 and up from June's SAAR of 16.6 million units.
