Statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) suggest that around 500,000 collisions involving commercial vehicles (CVs) occur every year across the US alone, 5,000 of which result in fatalities. In Europe, CVs are involved in approximately 10% of fatal road collisions, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).
To curb these stats, OEMs and suppliers have been adopting and developing a number of various advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). One of the leading developers of ADAS for the CV segment is Wabco.
