Delphi sharpens autonomous focus with Powertrain spin-off

There are plenty of opportunities for the Powertrain business ahead, but management think it will fare better on its own while E/EA and E&S hone their synergies. By Megan Lampinen

Unprecedented industry change - particularly the moves towards autonomous drive technology and zero-emission vehicles - is placing heavy burdens on suppliers. Delphi believes its business needs greater focus on specialty areas in order to meet both the technological demands of the marketplace and the value expectations of its shareholders. With that in mind, it's going for a spin-off of the Powertrain Systems segment.
