An advanced underground automation system involving a fleet of trucks has been launched in diamond giant De Beer’s underground diamond-mine, in Finsch, in the Northern Cape, South Africa, reports Engineering News.
Six 50-tonne Toro trucks, which drive themselves without any direct human intervention, are used in the company’s mining operations.
