Six-year record for UK production, bolstered by non-EU exports

With one quarter left in 2014, new passenger car production in the UK has already crossed the one-million-unit mark, despite production disruptions due to planned retooling for model changes.

Nine months into the year, production of new passenger cars in the UK has crossed the one-million-unit mark. The real growth came from car production for the domestic market, while output slated for export markets remained more or less flat. In all, the first three quarters of this year have seen total output of 1,132,017 cars.
