Canada gets cracking on fleet efficiency with NRC research/engineering programme

Automotive World speaks to the National Research Council of Canada on its latest efforts to address fleet efficiency.

Canada is taking further steps to clean up its road transport sector with a new seven-year project targeted at engineering and technical developments. The Fleet Forward 2020 (FF2020) programme aims to help vehicle fleets such as fire trucks, ambulances and police cruisers improve fuel efficiency, reduce repair and maintenance costs and lessen their environmental footprint. Launched by the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) in cooperation with Canadian fleet managers from the public transportation, trucking and military sectors, the project will offer access to NRC testing facilities, technologists, engineers and scientists.
